Eye Glasses for School Kids
The Longhorn Lions Club is proud of our program that provides eye exams and eyeglasses
to children in need within the Leander Independent School district.
Though our club members help to facilitate the process, we could not provide this
service without the work and cooperation of some very special members of the community.
Leander ISD school nurses help us to identify individual children in need of assistance.
Once identified, our club facilitator works with local optical professionals who donate
their services to provide eye exams, at a significantly reduced cost, or no cost, to the
family.
Once the exam is completed, our area LensCrafters store donates their time and materials
to provide the eyeglasses, also at at a reduced cost, or no cost, to the family. Frames
and lenses provided are from a limited selection specified by LensCrafters.
